Job Descriptions:

Drive business development activities in partnership with internal stakeholders and external clients. Identifies, evaluates and pursues the strategic and financial prospects of new business development opportunities. Establishes new scientific and strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances.  Establishes the implements appropriate development strategies to support licensing strategies and commercialization. Follows-up on all partnership activities including the tracking, documentation and status reporting of all collaborations along the business development pipeline.  Interacts with existing corporate contacts, facilitates communication, keeps track of milestones and identifies scope for enhancing these relationships.  Oversees the plan and execution of comprehensive BD strategy including responsibility for the preparation of presentation materials for meetings.  Define deliverables, including but not limited to Key business questions and insights, forecast, commercial data needs.  The role requires strong communication, and negotiation skills, in addition to a combination of strong technical quantitative and qualitative competences, and an agile and practical way of working.  

Job Duties:

§  Propose business development strategies to support a competitive target product profile and competitive positioning. Build, maintain, and periodically refresh insights for assets.

§  Work closely to track key milestone progress across pipeline programs

§  Work with internal partners to optimize the market value of assets.  Market size assessments – provide early market assessments and forecasts for pipeline products and BD opportunities

§  By accessing congress presentations, literature, secondary research reports and databases, stay up to date on changes in competitive landscape and market developments

§  Manage market research projects/initiatives.  Act as the main point of contact for external partners and proactively seek out ways to improve assessments. 

§  Follows-up on all partnership activity including the tracking, documentation and status reporting of all collaborations along the business development pipeline. Establishes and implements appropriate development strategies to support licensing deals. 

§  Interacts with existing corporate contacts, facilitates communication, keeps tracks of milestones and identifies scope for enhancing these relationships. 

§  Identifies, evaluates and pursues the strategic and financial prospects of new business opportunities. Directs the assessment of future markets and licensing potential and is responsible for coordinating commercial input to specific programs as necessary.

§  Manage assigned budget.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

·         Fundamental understanding of drug development process.  Knowledge in and experience in oncology and/or immunoinflammatory diseases is required.

·         Requires graduate degree in Science (M.Sc or Ph.D; Ph.D desired) with a minimum of 8 years of biotech/pharmaceutical environment. 

·         Prior experience dealing with corporate partners and negotiating and completing agreements is required.  A thorough understanding of the process of due diligence, asset valuation, alliance integration, portfolio management combined with scientific and business acumen is desirable.

·         Contacts in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industrial community relevant to the licensing of targets, leads, and drugs.

·         Professional experience in relevant forecasting, analytical, and market research concepts and frameworks

·         Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and a recent track record of leadership as expressed in leading teams, indirectly influencing stakeholders, and presenting in industry forums. 

·         Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and facilitation skills. 

·         Self-motivated, builds trust and operates with integrity and ethics
