Since 1973, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) has been a leader in the movement to end sexual violence. BARCC empowers survivors of sexual violence to heal and provides education and advocacy for the social change needed to create cultures that prevent sexual violence. We rely on our dedicated, brilliant staff to do this important work, and our team is growing!

The role

Our client service and advocacy teams are looking for a new, full-time Bilingual Client Services Navigator. You’ll work closely with our Bilingual Client Services Coordinator, Clinical Program Manager, and client services and advocacy teams (Clinical, Case Management, Hotline, incarcerated survivor program, Legal Advocacy, and Medical Advocacy) to be the bridge for our Spanish- and English-speaking survivors of sexual violence in accessing BARCC’s services. Your work will further BARCC’s mission of ending sexual violence through healing and social change.

Where and when you’ll work

BARCC's staff, operations, hours, and location vary by function, type of work, and work style. You’ll primarily work from our Downtown Waltham office with weekly travel to our Cambridge office.

This is a 40-hour, full time position. You can expect to work regularly Monday through Friday. One to two days a week you will have evening client hours until 8:00 pm. BARCC is open to discussing options such as flexibility in scheduling and occasional remote work.

What you’ll do

  • Promptly respond to requests for services within two business days, connecting survivors with the services they’re seeking.
  • Educate BARCC program volunteers and interns on how to refer clients for services, delivering program updates as needed.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of our client services and advocacy programs and provide information and service options to clients on a daily basis.
  • Assess clients’ needs and make appropriate internal referrals (clinical, legal, and case management) on a daily basis.
  • Schedule clinical intake appointments for clients and families and masterfully manage the intake calendar.
  • Update client data and maintain confidential client records for all programs.
  • Join monthly team meetings that focus on our clients, our volume and quality of services, and your continued learning and growth.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and special data reports on services provided to all
  • clients.
  • Be an ambassador of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
  • Collaborate on other projects as needed.

You’ll bring

  • Bicultural Spanish and English fluency, both written and verbal.
  • 2 years of experience thriving in an customer service or support role.
  • Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, and possess excellent communication and comfortable working with a computer database.
  • Demonstrated commitment to BARCC’s mission and philosophy.

Starting salary range and benefits

$40,000–$44,000, depending on experience and skills. The total compensation package includes a generous benefits package, including health, dental, vacation, sick time, and other coverage options.
