The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center is looking for a new full-time staff member. The Community Awareness & Prevention Services (CAPS) Coordinator position is an opportunity for an organized, community-minded, energetic, and resourceful individual to bring their strong interpersonal and volunteer management skills to an organization with an incredible mission and staff. We are looking for someone with the ability to engage our passionate volunteers and community partners alike, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
About the position The CAPS Coordinator is responsible for implementing diverse outreach and prevention strategies to raise awareness of BARCC and sexual violence. The CAPS Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the outreach and awareness program, including training, support, and supervision of CAPS volunteers. This includes building and strengthening relationships with BARCC volunteers, community groups and organizations. Our ideal candidate will inspire and support CAPS volunteers, working on their professional development goals to advance BARCC’s mission and their own success. The CAPS Coordinator will work closely with the Community Awareness and Prevention Services (CAPS) team to ensure that the CAPS volunteer program is effective, efficient and meeting organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience required such as program coordination, volunteer management and/or experience in the sexual violence field.
  • Understanding of sexual violence prevention in communities and intersection with other forms of violence and oppression, or open to learning is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • From the Boston area and/or highly knowledgeable of the communities in and surrounding Boston, MA preferred
  • Some nights and weekends required
  • Must be committed to BARCC’s mission and philosophy

Starting Salary Range $36,000 - $39,000, commensurate with experience, plus generous benefits package, including health, dental, vacation, sick time and other coverage options.
