What we do
Since 1973, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) has been a leader in the movement to end sexual violence. BARCC empowers survivors of sexual violence to heal and provides education and advocacy for the social change needed to create cultures that prevent sexual violence. We rely on our dedicated, brilliant staff to do this important work, and our team is growing!

The role
The Clinical Services program is looking for a new full-time Clinician fluent in Spanish and English (with an internal title of Bilingual Clinician). You’ll provide high-quality clinical care to clients at BARCC and at collaborating agencies in Spanish and English. You’ll work directly with the Clinical Services team of staff and interns to support survivors and significant others.

Where and when you’ll work
BARCC's staff, operations, hours, and location vary by function, type of work, and work style. You'll primarily work from our Waltham office.

This is a 40-hour, full-time position. You can expect to work regularly Monday through Friday. Exact schedule may be flexible depending on your availability. Two evenings, until 8:00 p.m., are required to meet client availability.

What you’ll do

Client work
  • Provide intakes, crisis intervention, and short-term individual, couples, and family counseling services to BARCC clients, at BARCC’s offices (Cambridge, Boston, and Waltham).
  • Develop, revise, and facilitate on- and off-site groups. 
  • Conduct client sessions during evening hours two nights per week.


Multidisciplinary work

  • Collaborate with other BARCC staff and teams to ensure clients’ needs are being met.
  • Provide supervision and education to volunteers and interns.
  • Observe, track, and communicate client feedback and needs (community response, feedback from allied organizations, client quotes, etc.) that explains the impact and needs of program services to supervisor at least once per year.
  • Attend and participate in developmental, organization-wide, and other meetings.

Administrative work
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided to and on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure that records are completed in a timely manner and comply with BARCC’s record-keeping guidelines.
  • Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Perform other duties as needed or directed.

You’ll bring
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English (required).
  • The education, training, and clinical hours to be a license-eligible LICSW or LMHC in Massachusetts (required), currently licensed preferred. 
  • Two or more years of relevant direct clinical service experience preferred.
  • Experience or comfort in working directly with clients in related fields, such as sexual and/or intimate partner violence, reproductive health, teen dating violence, suicide prevention, shelter access. 
  • Comfort with providing sexual trauma–informed care.
  • Collaborative team spirit that values and respects diverse perspectives in a multidisciplinary team.

Starting salary range and benefits
$46,000–$51,000, depending on experience and skills. The total compensation package includes a generous benefits package, including health, dental, vacation, sick time, and other coverage options.
