Senior Lab Automation Engineer/Scientist

What you will do:
- Lead and build out laboratory automation capabilities with a mix of off-the-shelf and custom solutions to scale up and automate our molecular biology workflows
- Collaborate with molecular biology, hardware, and software teams to run and implement changes to our end-to-end platform
- Analyze data, present findings, and make recommendations to internal and external stakeholders as the automation subject matter expert
- Publish peer-reviewed articles and file patents on our team’s achievements and ideas

Ideal background:
- MS or BS/BA in engineering, life sciences, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Expert in operating and programming automated liquid handling systems from multiple manufacturers, such as Beckman Coulter, Hamilton, Tecan, Agilent, etc.
- Programming skills in Python and/or C++
- Demonstrated experience in technology development with ambitious timelines and deliverables
- Experience translating wet lab molecular biology assays into a liquid handler system (e.g., PCR/qPCR, DNA assembly methods, sequencing library preparation)
- HPLC experience is a plus
