Location: This is a remote role, with occasional in-person meetings at our Southern California headquarters (Arcadia, CA), as needed.

Position Summary 

We are seeking a confident and positive Accounting Manager with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to support our growing team.

This role is responsible for managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the month-end close process, while supervising the Accountant I and AP Specialist positions. The Accounting Manager will partner closely with the Funding and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, oversee payables and cash outflow planning, and support financial reporting and close activities.

Additional responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing monthly GL reconciliations, supporting the year-end audit in partnership with the Controller, and identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes. This role will play a key part in scaling accounting operations as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities 

 

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department 

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports 

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations 

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes 

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial insights 

  • Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies 

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff 

  • Collaborate with senior management on budgeting and forecasting 

  • Support the funding staff with invoice preparation

 

Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred) 

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles 

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting 

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com) 

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills 

  • Clean energy and/or construction experience preferred

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities 

  • Strong skills in Google Sheets and Excel

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $115–$135K, based on experience, skills, and internal equity
