POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a UX Designer, you will work with our customers, product managers, executives, sales, marketing, and engineers to distill the company’s vision into actionable design and intuitive experiences. You will not find monotonous and repetitive “cookie cutter” design requests. You will be part of a diverse team of talented folks driven to help people from all walks of life have access to virtual currencies, and you’ll have fun along the way.


Candidates with a history of human-centered design, design experimentation, and Lean Startup techniques are desired.


The successful candidate will be able to do the following:

Elicitation and Prototyping

  • Analyze complex product and customer requirements and the creation of a design that maximizes the products potential while simultaneously ensuring long-term sustainability in the market

  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.

  • Facilitate the client’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.

 

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other designers, clients, executives, engineers, and product managers to find solutions that improve the user experience.

  • Responsible for guiding the product through the specification of products navigation or direction at each stage, information organization, and formulating interaction design.

  • Responsible for relaying insights to the Product Owner, Product Managers, content specialists, and engineers on ways to enhance psychological cues that can be integrated into the product.

 

Field Work

  • Intimately understand how the product is being received by customers along with the experience that the customers get from the product by interacting with them and getting feedback via focus groups, A/B testing and/or online user testing.

  • Intimately understand how the product works by identifying flaws, defects, and points of improvement in the product prior to the release into the market. Present the product team with pointers for the improvement of the products by reviewing product specs, recommending alternatives, and ensuring a high-quality production standard.

  • Compare the product experience with the experience exuded by competing brands and come up with product feature suggestions that will give the business a competitive edge in the market.

 

Human-Centered

  • Understand product specifications and user psychology.

  • Create personas through user research and customer data.

  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.

  • Plan and execute a variety of research efforts, from ethnographic, psychographic, lab studies, and guerrilla research.

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.

  • Job Requirements

    • Five or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.

    • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.

    • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

    • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.

    • Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.

    • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

    • Passion for human behavior, a zeal for identifying and solving user problems, and knowledge in qualitative research methods.

    • Strong partnership skills that allow you to collaborate with our product managers, engineers, and business executives.

    • Strategic problem-solver who’s proactive and self-directed.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to present and explain UX concepts and decisions to key stakeholders; communication style that focuses on collaboration and consensus building.

    • Experience with prototyping and visual design tools.

  • Preferred Education & Experience

    • Bachelor degree or demonstrated equivalent experience - Completed at least one year of a post-grad degree in Human Centered Design and Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Sciences, Psychology, or related fields.

    • 5+ years of experience in interaction design, visual design, user experience design or human factor engineering.

    • 2+ years of demonstrated applied Agile/Scrum/Lean Software Development Life Cycle experience.

    • Experience with blockchain technologies.

LOCATION

This opportunity is designed for our headquarters in the heart of Seattle, WA. Working remotely part of the time is an option.


TRAVEL - This position does not require travel.
