Position Overview
To ensure daily winery operation by accurately and efficiently performing basic, intermediate, and advanced cellar tasks as described in written work orders with proper training from the Winemakers and helping keep our facility working properly. Groundskeeping will also be required
Essential Job Functions
- Has understanding and skills needed to perform daily cellar tasks.
- Sets up, operates and cleans all grape processing equipment.
- Sets up, operates and cleans all wine filtration equipment.
- Understand and execute directions on a written work order.
- Understand operation and maintenance of all transfer pumps..
- Safely operates forklift in various applications.
- Can perform effective and efficient maintenance to all winery equipment.
- Can perform essential/preventative maintenance for winery operations.
- Understands barrel work and sanitation
- Mow and clean around the facility
- Operating a tractor
- Operating a fork lift
Non-essential Job Functions
- Works in vineyard when needed.
- Makes recommendations for improved cellar operation and efficiency.
- Working on the bottling line when asked to do so.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None.
Knowledge and Skills
- Required
- High School Diploma or 2 years experience in a beverage (or related) production facility.
- Can read and write in English.
- Preferred
- Has previous winery experience.
- Has previous forklift experience.
- Desirable
- Has previous equipment maintenance experience.
Physical Demands
- Should be physically fit and in good general condition.
- Can safely lift at least 55 pounds to waist level.
Working Conditions
- Standing for extended periods.
- Will be required to work seven (7) days a week if needed. (During Harvest)
- Will be required to work extended hours. (possibly over 12 hour days during Harvest)Will be required to work adverse conditions of Cold/Wet or Hot/Dry
