Job Description:
Friends for Youth is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Program Associate who will be guided by and report to a Program Coordinator. The Program Associate will
Responsibilities:

Facilitate 6-10 group mentorship programs by forming meaningful relationships and helping with problem-solving
-
Develop session plans and curriculum, as well as support program staff with evaluation and program development

Administer applications and surveys to support positive program quality.

Maintain program attendance across all group mentoring sessions.

Facilitate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) discussions about Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Healthy Decision Making

Attend departmental meetings including supervisor check in meetings, weekly debrief meetings, and program level staff meetings

Communicate announcements or student updates to Friends For Youth Group Program Coordinator and/or school

Day-to-day community engagement and implementing strategies to engage community groups, corporations, media, and universities

Assist with Friends for Youth special events including mentorship activities, fundraising events, holiday parties, field trips, etc.
Qualifications:

Some college/ Bachelors preferred
-
Ability to effectively engage with a diverse group of adults and youth.

Proficiency in Youth Development practices/ classroom management
-
Comfortable with public speaking engagements.
-
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
-
Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Passion for public service and youth development.

Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation required

Knowledge of local community and resources

Spanish speaker highly preferred
Working Conditions:
-
This role requires travel from site to site so reliable transportation is required.

Group Mentoring sessions are predominantly facilitated Monday through Thursday across multiple locations in San Mateo and Santa Clara County. Occasional mentoring sessions may be scheduled on Fridays with advanced notice.

Occasional work on evenings and weekends for mentorship and fundraising activities may be necessary.
