The Team

We’ve created a secure digital platform to expand education behind bars, reduce recidivism and to support the vocational, rehabilitation and communication needs of the 2.2 million people in jails and prisons. Users have access to thousands of hours of self-guided learning materials. Upon release, our learners have the option to continue their progress on the outside. Edovo offers courses in subjects ranging from basic literacy and GED to career exploration and cognitive behavioral therapy. The Role
The Content Team is responsible for the following:
  • Driving Learning Experience Strategy
  • Sourcing Content that Engages, Retains and Impacts our Learners
  • Deploying Content and Manage Learning Experience

Your role as Project Manager will work as part of this team to plan, oversee and document specific content projects to meet impact goals.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work in conjunction with the Content Team to drive content-related projects from start to finish based on short term priorities, and the long term vision for learning
  • Master the Edovo Learning and Content Management Systems to manage aspects of content integration, development, and evaluation on the platform
  • Develop and maintain documentation on internal and external projects for reporting and communication between teams
  • Form strong relationships with external partners (e.g. research teams, content providers, correctional staff) to identify and scope specific project needs based on Edovo’s current capabilities and broader goals
  • Accelerate projects internally through prioritization and close collaboration with, and across, all Edovo teams
  • Set and manage expectations for specific projects through effective and transparent communication with internal and external project stakeholders

Growth in this role could include managing Edovo’s grant and research partnership portfolio encompassing cutting-edge federal and foundation-funded research and evaluation, leading future development and configuration of Edovo’s growing content management system, and steering custom content creation projects for the platform

Qualifications
MUST-HAVES
  • Self-starter and judgment to prioritize based on company priorities, partner needs and user impact
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Excitement and willingness to work on a developing software in a fast-paced setting
  • Expertise or passion for a particular content area important to Edovo (academic, therapeutic, job skill, research, assessments, etc.)
  • Experience handling or analyzing large datasets (knowledge of SQL, Periscope, and/or Splunk a plus, willingness to learn a must-have)
  • Willingness to develop strong domain knowledge on the issues, research and trends relating to Edovo’s work
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn as much as possible about Edovo’s custom learning management system and all content areas
  • Excitement to get close to our core issue by working directly with correctional staff and people who are incarcerated
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback immediately
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, and willingness to grow in this area
  • Tenacity, ownership over projects and professional development, and a proactive, problem-solving spirit
  • Passion for Edovo’s mission
BONUS POINTS FOR
  • Passion / experience around criminal justice reform, adult education, or some area of social impact
  • Prior grant-writing or research experience
  • Exposure to software development processes
  • Experience working, volunteering, or personally impacted by the jail/prison system
  • Previous experience at a startup
