The Role
Edovo’s Infrastructure Team designs and operates the network services that deliver Edovo’s secure digital platform to jails and prisons across the United States. This includes backend hosting systems, wide area transport, customer premise installations, end to end security, automation, and management solutions.
We focus on security, stability, scalability, fault tolerance, and automation. We strive to provide our customers and internal teams with 100% system and service availability.
Working under Edovo’s VP of Engineering the Director of Infrastructure will define and execute our network infrastructure strategy. This includes responsibility over on premises hardware, datacenter hardware, and our initiatives in the cloud. This includes responsibility for defining the organization of the NOC group, individual responsibilities, and performance management.
Leading a small NOC group means there’s plenty of opportunity to get your hands dirty and we’ll expect the ideal candidate to be a seasoned network engineer who’s comfortable troubleshooting in complex network environments.
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies, plans, leads, and implements LAN, WAN, Telephony, and other infrastructure projects.
IT Security and Governance regarding network security architecture
Defining the structure of Edovo’s NOC group, including hiring and performance management
Defining SLAs and managing the NOC group to meet them, including 24/7 on-call support
Budgeting & Forecasting for the NOC
PROJECTS YOU’LL WORK ON
Coordinating the configuring, designing and troubleshooting multi-vendor network devices, cabling systems, intelligent hubs, bridges, switches, routers, firewalls and VPN
Working closely with our software engineering group to define our DevOps strategy for host provisioning and management
Working with technical sales and field operations to evolve our on-premises network stack
Evolving real-time monitoring and alerting to improve proactive response and limit service outages.
Qualifications
MUST-HAVES
5+ years of experience managing network operations centers, including individual mentorship and performance management
10+ years experience as a Senior Network Engineer.
Experiencing operating wired and wireless networks with tens of thousands of connected devices.
Expert level networking experience. Candidate should be comfortable designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting large scale hybrid cloud network designs.
Passion for Edovo’s mission and positively impacting the underserved.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Routing and Switching
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc)
Demonstrated experience with routing protocols such as: BGP, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF, OTV and QoS.
Firewall design, configuration and policy enforcement
Scripting in Python, Ruby, Shell or equivalent
Automated provisioning and management with Ansible, Chef, or equivalent
BONUS POINTS FOR
Previous startup experience
Experience working with large-scale mobile deployments
Compliance automation including SOC2 Type 2 and FedRAMP
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology
