Student Information Systems Administrator

 

The Cantey EDU PowerSchool data support team provides districts and schools with all levels of support from administrator training to scheduled data entry for the student information system (PowerSchool). This allows administrators and educators to focus on the students and their education. Maybe that job description sounds boring.  Trust me this job is not boring!

 

Our headquarters is in Charleston, SC but we have numerous locations and remote workers throughout the state. This position will be a remote work position so you can be anywhere. 

 

Here is what we are looking for in a Student Information Systems Administrator:

We need a full time detail-oriented person who can work with our clients over the phone or in person to instruct or solve issues while always being focused on helping the client.  We don’t do a lot of handholding/micro-managing/whatever-you-want-to-call-it!  Not just because it’s weird to hold hands and not smart these days. We just don’t have time. You need to be able to pick things up, prioritize them and run with them.  The team is always available to run things by if you have questions, but you have to be a self-starter and completer.

 

You will need:

1.     At least two years of direct as a system administrator of the Power School http://www.powerschool.com/ student information system.

2.     A associates degree or higher from an accredited college.

3.     A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

4.     A car which can be used for work. 

5.     A smartphone which can be used for work.

6.     Be able to lift and traverse steps with a 20-pound load.

 

Your responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:

1.     Overseeing student entry and withdrawal from the school.

2.     Enrolling new students throughout the year.

3.     Entering basic student and demographic information.

4.     Processing and adding new students’ historical grades.

5.     Storing or documenting departing students’ historical grades.

6.     Providing responsible administrative support in such areas as compiling data, analyzing data, and preparing related statistical reports.

7.     Entering all South Carolina PowerSchool field requirements accurately.

8.     Setting up and enroll students in schedules.

9.     Assisting schools with entering disciplinary and truancy data in Incident Management

10. Running reports and possibly creating reports

11. Making sure enrollment Average Daily Membership (ADM) is accurate in PowerSchool

 

We want someone full time for approximately 45 hours a week.
