SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will play a key role in fostering and managing relationships with external partners (including corporations, foundations, individuals, government agencies, other nonprofit partners, and community-based organizations) and promoting PowerPlay’s mission and values. The Program Coordinator will support with building out programmatic initiatives for STARS CGI, and will serve as a liaison for the STARS CGI Fellows program. The role will report to the Sr. Director of Strategic Partnerships & External Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program coordination, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the development of young people, social impact and building collaborative partnerships that drive positive change. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporations, foundations, individuals, government agencies, other nonprofit partners, and community-based organizations that align with our mission and strategic goals.

 

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, including regular communication, meetings, and collaboration on joint initiatives.

 

PROGRAM COORDINATION: 

  • Coordinate programs and activities in collaboration with partners, ensuring successful implementation and achievement of objectives.

  • Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure the successful execution of the program.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage projects related to partnerships, including timelines, budgets, marketing and deliverables.

 

COLLABORATION:

  • Facilitate collaboration between the PowerPlay programs and its partners.

  • Work closely with internal teams, including program managers, communications, and finance, to ensure alignment and coordination on partnership initiatives and success of the programs.

  • Manage communication channels between the PowerPlay programs and its partners.

 

REPORTING AND EVALUATION: 

  • Maintain accurate records of partnership agreements, communications, and program activities.

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of partnership programs, prepare reports, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Use feedback from partners and stakeholders to make improvements to the program.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders within the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven experience in program coordination, partnership development, or related roles.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders (internally and externally).

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for partnership growth and innovation.

  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector, fundraising, and grant management is a plus.

  • Passion for social impact, positive youth development and a commitment to PowerPlay's mission, vision and culture.

  • Flexible and adaptable - ability to work with changing conditions and priorities, willingness to work some evenings and weekends. 

  • Well organized with systematic and meticulous attention to detail. 

  • Proactive, “can-do” approach/attitude; demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness. 

  • An excellent team player with a positive attitude and the ability to connect and collaborate with others.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3-4 years work experience in youth development, communications and partnerships.  

 

COMPUTER SKILLS 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and general ability to learn new software 

  • Proficiency in the Google Workspace platform.

  • Proficiency in Canva and/or other design software. 

 

SALARY RANGE

  • $45,000 - $50,000 annually
