About The Role:
Reporting to the Vice-Present, Human Capital, the Sr. HR Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage the overall recruitment life-cycle process for the National Office.  Using expertise of best recruitment practices, this position will contribute to the development and implementation of a talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, onboard, and retain diverse and high-performing team-members.
 
As a member of the Human Capital Team, you are responsible for the following:
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment for open positions within the organization, including providing advice regarding inclusive interviewing practices; developing/finalizing job postings; sourcing and screening applicants; scheduling and facilitating interviews; aggregating feedback, and working with the hiring manager and HR Leadership to negotiate, finalize, and extend offers to the successful candidate, while ensuring consistent communication throughout the process to effectively manage the candidate experience. Develop external contacts to stay abreast of new hiring practices and trends in the industry.
  • Developing consistent recruitment strategies across the organization designed to attract the best candidates for our jobs, including researching and sharing creative and innovative ideas for reaching candidates through various sourcing channels such as LinkedIn, job boards, affinity groups and diversity partners, particularly for those “hard to fill” vacancies.
  • Partnering with HR and Communications staff to maintain Careers landing page that attracts and engages applicants and efficiently facilitates their progress through the recruitment process.
  • Creating, building, and implementing effective, efficient, and consistent processes within the recruitment function.  Responsible for leveraging process and technology improvements within our ATS to ensure optimal utilization of all resources.
  • Managing all Talent Acquisition related administration, including Applicant Tracking System (ATS) updates, notes and workflows, administration of job postings and any related external advertising; weekly updates to stakeholders; and preparation of new hire HR form packages and complete onboarding processes to ensure proper employee set up.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate documentation of recruiting activities to support CIS’s DEI tracking and reporting efforts, including integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion practices into our TA process to (1) maintaining sourcing strategies to attract applicants from diverse backgrounds and (2) ensure a diverse slate of candidates throughout the process
  • Ensuring completion of administrative tasks in the recruitment process including interview coordination, background checks, security screenings, and completion of the pre-hire steps. Collaborates with HR colleagues to ensure a smooth employee experience, to include the transition from pre-hire to onboarding.
  • Managing relationships with temp agencies and other vendors
To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for utilizing your expertise to support our mission and provide the following:
  •  5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Strong knowledge of diversity recruitment strategies, channels, methods, and sources across gender, racial/ethnic, and other dimensions of diversity.
  • Experience with using applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage candidates. Experience implementing and automating ATS a plus.
  • Outstanding lead generation and candidate conversion skills. Advanced sourcing capabilities and creative techniques to identify underrepresented talent.
  • Proven ability to quickly build trust-based relationships with candidates, colleagues, and internal/external stakeholder.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships, with a high degree of integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized
  • Ability to pivot when needed due to workload and/or competing priorities
  • Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws as well as basic knowledge of human resource policies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Sharepoint, HRIS, etc. Experience, preferably in a non-profit or education focused organization preferred.
