Senior Accountant:  As Senior Accountant, you’ll support the CFO/controller in managing financial operations, documenting and improving policies and procedures encompassing AR, AP, GL and bank reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Job Summary:

  • Management of the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, collections, and cash application of the resulting balances.
  • Assist with the monthly and annual general ledger close processes, ensuring the accuracy of the accounting records in a timely manner.
  • Support the payroll activities of the company, serving as back-up to the CFO/Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing and Billing:  Oversee the generation and distribution of accurate and timely invoices to customers, ensure compliance with billing procedures and policies, and monitor invoice processing to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Collections:  Develop and implement effective collection strategies to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices, monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and take appropriate action to resolve them, and communicate with customers to address billing inquiries and resolve disputes.
  • Cash Application:  Ensure accurate and timely application of customer payments to the appropriate accounts.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and review journal entries. 
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts, such as bank reconciliations, and work on identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement:  Identify and implement accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy while providing general accounting support to other departments.
  • Communication & Collaboration:  Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure accurate financial data and timely reporting.
  • Payroll: Assist with payroll processing and journal entries along with reconciliation of related health and welfare benefit accounts. 
  • Tax Compliance:  Assist with the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Accounting Processes:  Prepare and review journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business related field.
  • Experience:  3-5+ years of experience in accounting, with supervisory experience.
  • Software Proficiency:  Proficiency with accounting software (Microsoft Office, SAP).
  • Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to identify and resolve accounting process issues and discrepancies.
  • Communication Skills:  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills:  Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Team Oriented:  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail:  High attention to detail and accuracy.
