Position Overview
Belite MSLs will play a central role in supporting the launch activities of the company’s first potential US commercial product in inherited retinal diseases (IRDs). MSLs will support the advancement of clinical and research programs by delivering expert clinical, scientific, and technical education to the Ophthalmology community in their assigned region. Through their scientific exchange, these roles will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining long-term collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with thought leaders, practices, payers and other stakeholders specializing in ophthalmic care. These individuals need to be passionate about communicating deep scientific knowledge as part of a collaborative medical affairs team.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Belite as a scientific and technical expert on the company’s clinical and research programs as well as relevant Ophthalmology disease state areas
- Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial to serve
as a Belite scientific resource to HCPs, payers and formulary decision makers
- Participate in scientific exchange with the medical community through 1:1 engagement, payer presentations, or coverage of a Medical Affairs Booth in a compliant manner
- Respond to and document unsolicited requests for information on Belite clinical and research programs
- Develop a key opinion leader (KOL) engagement plan to identify, grow and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs within assigned region
- Provide internal medical/ clinical teams with feedback and insights from interactions with HCPs
- Support internal needs for scientific expertise such as the training of belite employees, medical materials review/creation, or other unique projects as requested
- Collaborate with US Market Access & Reimbursement and Commercial colleagues for thought leader and institutional engagement where appropriate
Qualifications & Requirements
- Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required
- 2+ years’ experience in medical affairs strongly preferred
- Ophthalmology (preferably retina) experience required, medical genetics and/or rare disease experience highly desirable
Competencies
- A strong scientific understanding of the field of Ophthalmology, particularly in the area of retinal diseases, retinal imaging modalities, and genetic testing with ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in Belite Clinical and Research Programs
- Comfortable presenting clinical data and fielding scientific questions from HCPs and Payers in an accurate and compliant manner
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong and trusted cross-functional relationship in support of commercial teams while maintaining appropriate compliance boundaries
- Knowledgeable about the US healthcare and access landscape, specialty pharmacy models, payer dynamics and the drug-diagnostic interface
- Delivered reliably against goals in the past and were motivated to meet and even exceed metrics and KPIs.
- Ability to travel frequently within the US, occasionally on weekends as needed.

Salary Disclosure
Pay Range: $165,000 – $240,000 USD (Salary offered will depend on candidate location, market rate adjustments, skills, and relevant experience).
Belite Bio provides a competitive total compensation package that includes base salary, annual incentive bonuses, equity participation, and a full benefit package (health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off).
