Be Structured Technology Group (BSTG) is looking for a Field Technician II – Low Voltage & Network Cabling professional to join our growing Infrastructure Services Team in downtown Los Angeles.
In this hybrid field role, you’ll play a hands-on part in installing structured cabling systems (Cat5e/6, patch panels, racks) and supporting network infrastructure deployments for our clients across the greater LA area. From new office builds to network upgrades and IT relocations, you’ll help implement the foundational systems that power our clients’ growth — all while being backed by a trusted MSP/MSSP team that delivers full-spectrum IT services and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Low-Voltage Cabling: Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling and systems, including ethernet, fiber, access control, audio and video.
- Onsite Support: Provide customers with on-site technical support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating complex problems to senior technicians or engineers as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Documentation: Using ticketing and documentation systems, maintain accurate records of onsite activities, including service tickets, inventory management, and customer communications.
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow established processes and procedures for service delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and customer service level agreements (SLAs).
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks and testing on deployed systems and configurations to verify functionality and adherence to customer requirements
- Hardware and Software Deployment: Deploy and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment according to customer specifications and best practices.
- Network Support: Help set up and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure seamless connectivity.
- AV Support: Help set up and troubleshooting AV devices including but not limited to, conferencing systems, distributed audio systems, video displays and projectors.
- Access Control Support: Install and configure access control systems, including all terminations to locking hardware, readers, and access control panels.
- Customer Relationship: Build positive relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for onsite technical issues and service requests.
You’ll know you're successful as a Field Technician II when:
- You demonstrate technical proficiency in low-voltage cabling, repairs, and installations.
- Documentation is comprehensive, up-to-date, and readily accessible, enabling efficient troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
- Customers provide positive feedback on their professionalism, communication skills, and ability to address cabling and networking needs effectively.
- Consistently meets or exceeds all KPIs.

- Has a solid record of tracking billable hours, so billing is kept current, and invoicing can be promptly executed.
- Maintains good/open communication between leads, managers, and project management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
- 2+ years as a Field Technician or similar role in IT support, preferably within an MSP/MSSP or related industry.
- Experience with low-voltage cabling installation, termination, and testing practices.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for onsite visits to customer locations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong technical proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting hardware, software, and network infrastructure components.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-team environment to support the customer.
- Stays curious, is intuitive, takes the initiative, is reliable, is honest (trustworthy), is respectful, has a high degree of integrity, and is friendly.
Physical Role Requirements:
- This is primarily at customer locations, occasionally in the office.
- All verbal communications must be followed by written records for documentation tracking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for equipment transport and set up.
- Quantity of sitting/standing/reaching/bending/lifting varies depending on the day's work schedule.
- Standard office equipment (telephone, computer workstation, printer, copier, scanner, calculator).
