Our Director of Operations will be:
The Director of Operations will have a deep understanding of securities handling and processing and will work to improve Odyssey’s operating model which centers around efficiency, automation and adherence to compliance. They will also partner with client-facing teams to support client-driven activities.
Primary Operational Responsibilities:
- Operational set-up and coordination of client-driven activities such as dividend payments and share exchanges, partnering with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ensuring client-driven activities are reconciled, delivered timely and accurately.
- Coordinates unclaimed property reporting processes with the external vendor.
- Handles complex operational inquiries and escalations.
- Identifies and drives opportunities for digitization and automation alongside other departments to enhance operational functionality.
- Supports projects that will enhance productivity and streamline processes.
- In addition to the responsibilities noted above, management may request the completion of other ad hoc duties or projects.
Skills and Experience
- University degree
- Deep knowledge of the securities industry is desirable
- Experience in finance, banking, brokerage or trust companies is an asset
- Technical and analytical skills
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Pro-active attitude and “how can I help?” perspective
