Packaging Engineer

As a Packaging Engineer, you’ll help create and optimize sterile and non-sterile packaging for cutting-edge spinal implants and instruments. Candidates should ideally be located in Leesburg, VA (preferred) or Allendale, NJ.
What You’ll Do:

Design and develop sterile and non-sterile packaging for spinal medical devices

Create CAD documentation and component specifications for packaging systems

Perform and analyze packaging validation and testing activities

Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure packaging meets requirements

Assist in maintaining documentation for regulatory and quality standards

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the packaging function

Develop knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and VB Spine’s packaging processes
What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

0–2 years of experience (internships/co-ops in medical device or packaging preferred)

Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks or Creo preferred)

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to grow professionally

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Compensation:
The typical pay range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
