Packaging Engineer

We’re looking for driven individuals ready to learn quickly, adapt under pressure, and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Packaging Engineer, you’ll help create and optimize sterile and non-sterile packaging for cutting-edge spinal implants and instruments. Candidates should ideally be located in Leesburg, VA (preferred) or Allendale, NJ. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop sterile and non-sterile packaging for spinal medical devices

  • Create CAD documentation and component specifications for packaging systems

  • Perform and analyze packaging validation and testing activities

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure packaging meets requirements

  • Assist in maintaining documentation for regulatory and quality standards

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the packaging function

  • Develop knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and VB Spine’s packaging processes

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

  • 0–2 years of experience (internships/co-ops in medical device or packaging preferred)

  • Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks or Creo preferred)

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to grow professionally

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Compensation:
The typical pay range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
