Job Description

As a Business Facing Product Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our people enjoy a seamless experience with our production technology systems. Your role is focused on the Research Team and the departments it works with by creating well documented production grade tools that increase productivity, reduce friction and enable new capabilities, whilst minimizing risk. Reporting to the Technology team at ARK, headed by the CTO, you will act as the Technology Business Partner for Research.

Primary Responsibilities

Enable New Capabilities

  • Develop dashboards/applications for portfolio and position-level performance analysis and decision support
  • Implement generative-AI powered tools & automations to accelerate the research & portfolio management process
  • Build & aggregate reusable data assets for the research team

Increase Productivity / Reduce Friction

  • Automate regular reports & create dashboards to support ad-hoc analytics
  • Manage forms and interfaces for data entry and process support across research apps
  • Drive documentation of existing tools & processes

Manage Risk

  • Implement data quality analytics & controls
  • Create automations to assist in record keeping (i.e. meetings, research sources)

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and updates related to our technology environment.
  • Propose enhancements to improve user experience and productivity.

Requirements and Skills

  • Coding languages: Python, SQL, Javascript
  • Experience working with databases and data pipelines / ETL workflows
  • Experience working with APIs and web scraping
  • Experience in working within cloud environments Azure, GCP, AWS
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, custom dashboards)
  • Experience with agile project management and / or product management
  • Experience developing LLM integrations and prompt engineering
  • Experience with: Airtable, Palantir Foundry, Microsoft Power Automate, GitHub, serverless functions
  • Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • User-Centric Mindset: Ability to empathize with users, communicate effectively, and provide exceptional client support.
  • Technical Aptitude: Understanding of hardware, software, and networking concepts, Mac and PC.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Resourcefulness in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Database, AI, Automation and Visualization) are advantageous.
  • Education: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the required fields
