GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Information Assurance Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting accreditation activities for UltiSat customers using networks managed by UltiSat based on NIST SP800-53 requirements.  This position will require technical knowledge of VSAT communication systems and SP800-53 controls that address communication systems supporting medium and high impact information systems. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Provide expertise and support to the VP, IT/IS/IA in supporting IA accreditation efforts of UltiSat customers.

•Provide expertise for all issues related to Network Security/Information Assurance for all systems connected to the corporate network. He/she will employ industry best practices and standard IA processes, procedures and techniques in the Assessment and Accreditation process. 

•Audit system’s hardening, Image Patching and pushing of new applications to workstations and servers.

•Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and practices.

•Review policies and procedures, recommend changes as required to improve security

•Provide accurate and up to date supporting documentation.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

•Ten (10) years of progressive Information Technology experience, including four (4) to five (5) years of Information Assurance experience relevant to Assessments and Accreditation.

•Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g. information systems, networks and security, computer science, math, or electrical engineering);

•Information Assurance and/or Information Security Policy training highly preferred.

•Experience with Identity Management tools and technologies. RSA, Yubikey, RADIUS, Cisco ACS or equivalent.

•Experience with Network Vulnerabilities scanners like Nessus, Qualys, snort.

•Experience with firewalls, Fortigate, Cisco, VSAT communications systems

•Flexible Schedule, Excellent Time Management.

•Results oriented, willing to accept challenges dynamically and prioritize accordingly to business needs.

•Excellent working knowledge of IA Assessment and Accreditation Certification

•Knowledge and understanding of DoDi 8500.2, NIST800-53, ISO27001/2 guidelines
