We are seeking a dynamic Georgia State Coordinator to lead our state-based organizing and initiatives in alignment with our mission to advance reproductive freedom, maternal health, and social justice for all. In this role, you will be the strategic driver of our Georgia efforts—cultivating partnerships, mobilizing communities, and ensuring our work reflects the needs and priorities of those most impacted. Position Summary:

The GA State Coordinator (SC) will be responsible for leading SisterSong’s state-based advocacy efforts. The SC will employ organizing and media skills with policy and advocacy experience to help promote the reproductive justice framework throughout the state with grassroots communities as well as other movements. The GA SC will also coordinate work specific to religious exemptions in the state. The GA SC is a key organizational representative, among those who represent SisterSong before the press, our membership, and the public.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Planning, development, and implementation of new programs.
  • Develop and implement base-building plan for the assigned, homebased state.
  • Develop an understanding of existing RJ organizations and relationships across the state to foster and maintain partnerships.
  • Attend state roundtables, events, convenings, and meetings to mobilize communities.
  • Identify, coordinate, and support, the organizing needs of marginalized groups.
  • Build relationships with leadership of social justice organizations.
  • Facilitate RJ and other trainings in the state. Partner with Reproductive Justice, Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights organizations to bring programing into the state.
  • Track policy and legislation to inform programmatic work and organizing.
  • Speaking engagements (speeches, panels, presentations) on SisterSong’s behalf across the state.
  • Creation of program promotion materials – including submission of orders for graphic design, and event materials
  • Host conference calls with planning committees and state partners.
  • Organizational reporting – including event reports, expense reports, monthly and quarterly programming reports.
  • Attend of interest conferences and convenings on behalf of SisterSong.
  • Create evaluations for programming to be used for development.
  • Collaborate with staff for cross departmental programming and organizing.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of organizational programming and convenings.
  • Ongoing grassroots fundraising support.

 

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, political Science or similar, required.

Three to five years of experience in community outreach, social work required. (Master’s degree in lieu of experience and/or combination will be considered)
