Are you passionate about reproductive justice and equitable maternal health care? We are seeking a dedicated Birth Justice Care Fund Intern to support our mission of advancing birth justice and ensuring access to quality maternal care for all. 

 

Position Summary:

The Birth Justice Care Fund Intern plays a pivotal role in supporting the Birth Justice Team in the strategic management and administration of the care fund. This position involves daily administrative duties, coordination with community partners, and assisting in the evaluation and distribution of resources to advance birth justice initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for birth justice, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to fostering equitable healthcare access.

 

  Duties:

Provide daily administrative support for the Birth Justice Care Fund, including data entry, record-keeping, and communication management.

Maintain accurate and organized documentation of care fund activities.

Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and advocacy groups to gather information on potential care fund recipients.

Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to the care fund and assist applicants through the application process.

Compile relevant information for the Birth Justice Director’s review as needed.

Contribute to the development of communication materials related to the care fund.

Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to care fund activities.

Generate reports and summaries for internal teams and cross-functional departments to gather/share relevant data, analyze trends, and ensure accurate reporting relating to the Birth Justice Care Fund.

Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, or meetings related to birth justice initiatives.

Coordinate logistics and ensure the smooth operation of Birth Justice Care Fund events i.e., care fund purchases, hotels bookings, flights, etc,)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous experience in administrative support, community outreach, or a related role.

 

Knowledge of birth justice issues, maternal health disparities, and healthcare access.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.

 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

 

Key Competencies:

A strong commitment to advancing birth justice initiatives and promoting equitable healthcare access.

 

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently.

 

Effective written and verbal communication skills to liaise with community partners, applicants, and internal team members.

 

Ability to work collaboratively with the Birth Justice Fund Coordinator and other team members to achieve shared goals.

 

Demonstrated ability to identify challenges and contribute to solutions in a dynamic work environment.
