About the Role:
Dragonfly Internet is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to be the frontline ambassador for our brand in Sarasota and Manatee counties. This role is all about building long-term, trust-based relationships with key players in the community—including real estate developers, planning officials, MDU (multi-dwelling unit) owners, and small business owners.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management—ideally in telecom, broadband, or related technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of MDU environments, municipal planning, and the needs of small businesses.
- Prior experience selling data, fiber, or business-class voice services is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with face-to-face meetings, field visits, and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in an autonomous, field-based role.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with real estate developers, city and county planning officials, property managers, and small business owners to drive broadband expansion opportunities.
- Identify and pursue partnership opportunities in upcoming commercial and residential developments (especially MDUs).
- Promote and sell high-speed internet and business-class phone solutions tailored to the unique needs of small businesses and property developments.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, and customer experience) to ensure smooth project planning, build-outs, and service delivery.
- Represent Dragonfly Internet at local business events, planning meetings, and industry networking opportunities.
- Track and report on sales pipeline activity, development trends, and strategic partnerships using CRM tools.
- Stay up to date on local development trends, permitting processes, and industry regulations in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of professional experience in sales or business development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experienced in finding and developing new business opportunities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
- Business development, sales, or account management in telecom, broadband, or related technology sectors actively seeking new prospects.
- MDU environment experience.
- Data, fiber, or business-class voice services.
