Location: Durham, NC, Hybrid schedule with the possibility of 1 day on site quarterly

Background: 

 

Family Connects International (FCI) is an independent 501c3 non-profit, providing training and technical support for the implementation of the evidence-based Family Connects Model, developed at Duke University. Family Connects (FC) is a community-based program supporting new parents in caring for their newborns, offering physical assessments of the postpartum person and infant, addressing questions about caring for a newborn, providing supportive guidance, and helping them access any needed community services or resources.  

 

Occupational Summary: 

 

The Data Analyst plays a key role at FCI in translating large datasets into clear, actionable reports that are accessible to a wide range of users. They are responsible for leading, coordinating, and performing a variety of complex independent and team activities. These activities involve the collection, analysis, reporting, documentation, and interpretation of FCI data collected within FCI’s Salesforce Health Cloud database through program implementation. In addition, the Data Analyst supports knowledge sharing and data literacy by cross-training internal staff and providing guidance and training to partner sites to ensure reports and data outputs are properly understood and used effectively. 

 

The Data Analyst should enjoy engaging with users, as well as translating complex data into clear, visually appealing reports that empower users to better understand their program results. They will be a friendly and reliable partner to hundreds of nurses and public health leaders around the nation who rely on the Family Connects centralized database to improve outcomes for families.  

 

Key Deliverables: 

 

  • Develop, publish, and supervise reports generated from data collected in FCI data systems and local community administrative databases. 

  • Provide FCI Community Partners with standardized performance monitoring reports using Tableau. 

  • Prepare presentations, written reports, and data analyses, setting forth progress, trends, benchmarks, and appropriate recommendations and conclusions. 

  • Create and maintain documentation on proprietary processes that are required to perform the work involved in this role. 

  • Coordinate efforts of FCI staff, including cross-training, to assist in evaluation and reporting activities. 

  • Supervise efforts to improve data quality and reporting accuracy across FCI community partnerships. 

  • Advise FCI staff on how to use program evaluation data and insights during technical assistance meetings with FCI community partners to make data-informed decisions. 

  • Assist in Data Maintenance and Database Management. 

  • Prepare a variety of narrative and analytical reports and correspondence for the FCI implementation, clinical, and policy teams. 

  • Prepare reports for FCI external audiences such as funders and stakeholders. 

  • Perform other related duties as needed. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s degree in statistics, social sciences, or related field OR equivalent professional experience. 

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in research and data analysis. 

  • Advanced proficiency with Tableau. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Customer service orientation and problem-solving attitude. 

  • Proactive self-starter willing to manage tasks to execution. 

  • Desire to work in a dynamic, growing, mission-driven environment where most people wear many hats.   

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Health Cloud preferred. 

  • Salesforce Tableau Certification. 

  • Experience conducting descriptive, comparative, and multivariable statistical analyses. 

  • Experience leading data analysis trainings or presentations. 

  • Strong interest in learning about best practices in maternal and child health and early childhood development. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Extended sitting (up to 8 hours per day). 

  • Keyboarding. 

  • Ability to work in different (changing) locations. 

  • Ability to perform duties in an active environment with changes in climate and noise level. 

  • Ability to travel in air, train, and car.  

Pay Band:  

 

$75,000-$115,000 based on 3 bands of Entry-Mid level (0-5 years direct experience), Advanced (5-10 years direct experience), or Senior (10 or more years direct experience).
