Background:
Family Connects International (FCI) is an independent 501c3 non-profit, providing training and technical support for the implementation of the evidence-based Family Connects Model, developed at Duke University. Family Connects (FC) is a community-based program supporting new parents in caring for their newborns, offering physical assessments of the postpartum person and infant, addressing questions about caring for a newborn, providing supportive guidance, and helping them access any community services or resources needed.
Occupational Summary:
The Director of Nursing is a key member of FCI’s Leadership Team. They supervise FCI’s Nurse Specialists and provide training and technical assistance to nurse home visitors throughout the network. This position also coordinates nurse support for community partners with other functions in the organization, including implementation, community alignment, and data systems. The position is also the named Program Director for the ANCC accreditation and will be responsible for all reporting requirements necessary to maintain standards laid out by the ANCC.
Key Deliverables:
• Champion all aspects of the Family Connect Model, with particular focus on the Family Connects home visiting protocol reflected in the current program implementation manual;
• Serve as Program Director for all aspects of the ANCC accreditation;
• Supervise the planning, development, and delivery of educational content and resources for Family Connects community partners, in person and remotely using tools such as Zoom, Teams, and iSpring;
• Assess professional practice gaps, determine educational content that should be provided to meet learning needs, and evaluate educational offerings;
• Travel nationally to visit community partners, conduct home visits alongside nurses, and provide technical assistance, education, and coaching;
• Support the safety, quality, and fidelity of nurse delivery of the Family Connects Model;
• Assure nursing team compliance with nursing standards, accreditation requirements, Model fidelity standards, and HIPAA and other privacy and security laws and regulations;
• Develop nursing strategies that align with FCI mission and goals; and
• Plan and operate within approved budget.
Required Qualifications:
• BSN with masters (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. MPH, MSN,).
• Active RN license required.
• Maintain active CPR certification.
• At least 6 years’ clinical experience, must include home visiting experience.
• At least 6 years’ nurse management experience, must include leading teams and supporting direct reports.
• Experience supporting teams to implement an evidence-based home visit model.
• Experience working with culturally diverse populations and ability to demonstrate sensitivity, flexibility, adaptability, and affinity for a multicultural environment.
• Experience and comfort with delivering formal presentations, both in person and virtually.
• Ability to manage a flexible yet demanding schedule with multiple competing demands while providing a high level of customer service.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Commitment to universal home visiting as a public health intervention for newborns and their families.
• Experience in leading accreditation practices to maintain standards and ensure accreditation is maintained
Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters or DNP in Nurse Education.
• Nursing education experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Extended sitting (up to 8 hours per day).
• Keyboarding.
• Ability to work in different (changing) locations.
• Ability to perform duties in an active environment with changes in climate and noise level.
• Ability to drive in all types of weather.
• Ability to travel in air, train, and car.

Pay Band: $100,000-$130,000 based on experience
