Job Title – Child Nutrition Program Worker

Job Goals:

  To assist in providing a school food service program safely and efficiently to meet the nutritional needs of students and staff while complying with local, state, and federal regulations.

 

Qualifications:

 

1.     High school diploma or equivalent.

2.     Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

3.     Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.

4.     Ability to prioritize tasks.

5.     Ability to make estimates of time and material needed for efficient project completion.

6.     Ability to effectively perform simultaneous projects and initiatives while meeting multiple deadlines.

7.     High level of personal initiative and ability to work without close supervision.

8.     Strength, stamina, agility, dexterity, and acuity to perform job responsibilities safely and effectively.

9.     Ability, agility, and stamina to engage in prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, turning, reaching, and repetitive lifting up to 30 pounds.

10.  Ability and willingness to work after hours, weekends, or holidays if necessary.

11.  Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.

Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the Superintendent may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

 

1.     Perform work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

2.     Prepare and serve food as assigned.

3.     Perform custodial, dish room, and/or storeroom duties as assigned.

4.     Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety.

5.     Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner.

6.     Maintain effective working relationships with the manager and other employees.

7.     Assume any position in the department as directed by the manager.

8.     Direct and work with others as assigned by the manager.

9.     Communicate effectively with the public, staff members, students, parents, administrators, and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.

10.  Follow attendance, punctuality, and proper dress rules.

11.  Ensure adherence to good safety standards.

12.  Model and maintain high ethical standards.

13.  Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

14.  Maintain expertise in assigned areas to fulfill project goals and objectives.
