Position: Data Entry Intern 

Reports to: Finance & Payroll Coordinator (Primary) and Asst. Director of Finance (Secondary)

Location: Hybrid (New York Area Preferred)

Duration: 28 hours weekly, For a period not to exceed one year

Compensation: $18/hr.

 

Background

The Lupus Research Alliance (LRA) is the world’s leading non-governmental, non-profit funder of lupus research. Over the past 20 years, the LRA has invested over $250 million in lupus research in more than 560 research and clinical studies. More recently, the LRA established an affiliate organization, Lupus Therapeutics (LT), which is responsible for the coordination, conduct and management of a North American-based clinical trial consortium, the Lupus Clinical Investigators Network (LuCIN).

Position Overview

The LRA/LT is seeking a Data Entry Intern.  In this position you will work closely with our finance team to support various financial processes and contribute to the overall financial management of our organization. This internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of financial operations within a non-profit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Saving AP invoices Saving invoices received and storing them in the Finance folder on the SharePoint, keeping them organized. 
  • Vendor Record Maintenance Updating vendor names and descriptions in QuickBooks generated through Concur to ensure accuracy and improve reporting.
  • Invoices Recording all invoices received for payment in a log and adding helpful notes such as finance codes and payment priority statuses to assist the Senior and Junior Finance Coordinators.
  • CLASSY ENTRIES INTO QB Download Classy reports from GoFundMe, sort utilizing pivot table to enter into QB with proper code.
  • WELLS FARGO ACCOUNT ENTRIES INTO QB Utilizing the coding information from Development- i.e. Salesforce or Prep Sheets, enter Wells Fargo revenue into QB utilizing proper codes.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with financial data and perform calculations accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and other finance programs preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of non-profit financial practices and regulations (preferred but not required).
  • Passion for the non-profit sector and a genuine interest in contributing to social impact.
