Position Overview

The Manufacturing Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations on the manufacturing floor. This role ensures production schedules are met, safety protocols are followed, and quality standards are maintained. The Production Lead acts as a liaison between production workers and management, providing leadership, training, and support to the team.

 

Production Lead Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of production workers to meet daily manufacturing goals.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust workflows to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that may impact production timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and material usage.
  • Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, etc.).
  • Report on key production metrics and escalate issues to management as necessary.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and functioning properly. 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or technical degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Proficient in using production software and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).

 

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May work in noisy, hot, or cold environments depending on facility.
  • May require overtime or shift work based on production needs.

 

Compensation:

$50,000 to $75,000 per year
