Overview

 

This role will be primarily focused on contributing to implementing, integrating, and managing Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions to deliver engaging constituent and donor experiences for Non-profit and Higher-Ed. This includes implementing marketing cloud solutions and coordinating with multiple digital solution vendors to ensure the client is able to meet their short- and long-term fundraising, marketing and engagement goals. To be successful in this role a consultant must have experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and preferably other Salesforce Marketing Cloud products, and knowledge of non-profit fundraising and marketing needs.

 

This position requires the ability to juggle a number of projects at once. Because most of the work is client-facing, communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people and non-profits are very important. A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with peers and clients, and the ability to build consensus.

Requirements

  • Currently certified or actively working to attain one or more of the following Salesforce Certifications:
    • Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification
    • Marketing Cloud Consultant Certification
    • Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification
    • Marketing Cloud Developer Certification
    • Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Consultant
    • Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist
    • Marketing Cloud Intelligence Accredited Professional
    • Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant

 

  • Technology and systems knowledge including:
    • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Marketing offerings, including Engagement, but also some knowledge of Account Engagement, Data Cloud, Intelligence, and Salesforce CRM.
    • Experience with HTML, CSS.
    • Experience with Marketing Cloud connect.
    • Data Management: creating data extensions, mapping fields, and setting up data flows
    • Configure and manage Marketing Cloud functionalities such as email sends, audience segmentation, and automation workflows
    • Microsoft suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote and Access
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills:
    • Ability to clearly and appropriately communicate with clients – quickly producing documentation to update clients on status, options, issues.
    • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with Project Lead and Project Manager regarding project updates, complete time sheets and other documentation as required.
    • Communicate essential details: status on assigned tasks, next steps, and any emerging issues, quickly and efficiently to project lead or manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and skills quickly and be flexible and willing to take on new job tasks as they arise
  • Meet or exceed billable and internal hourly expectations on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-direct to complete assignments and stay on task, while being flexible enough to handle unanticipated elements of a project. Identify tasks critical to a project’s overall success.
  • Proficiency in the following necessary consulting skills:
    • Proactively and independently track project budget hours, and scale work to fit within a specific project budget while simultaneously demonstrating flexibility and creativity to meet client priorities with the given resources, budget and time
    • Deliver high quality work despite obstacles such as client organizational culture, personality challenges with team and/or clients, and potential challenges with industry partners and product vendors
    • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively and escalate appropriately when problem is not solved
    • Recognize factors that will affect a project’s success and communicate escalations clearly to the Project Lead, or Project Manager, as applicable per the project’s escalation path

Strongly preferred:

  • Experience working in non-profit marketing or fundraising
  • Experience with JavaScript, SQL, AMPScript
  • Technology and systems knowledge including:
    • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce for the non-profit sector and digital fundraising and marketing automation tools commonly used by non-profits (Luminate Online, Pardot, Marketo, MailChimp, Constant Contact, NetCommunity, Classy, Rallybound, Springboard, Engaging Networks, etc.)
    • Familiarity with other CRM databases for the non-profit sector (Raiser’s Edge, PIDI, iMIS, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant on digital projects, including solution selections, fit assessments, and implementations
  • Support Implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement: set up emails, forms, and landing pages using out-of-the-box templates
  • Conduct details quality assurance tests on your own and colleagues work; ability to troubleshoot HTML, CSS and other bugs
  • Set up Data Extensions, Journeys and reports in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
  • Work on projects that have components, phases or products that are new to you
    • Lead stakeholder interviews to elicit business requirements and design engaging donor and constituent experience across systems
    • Conduct solution selection and fit assessment for digital fundraising, marketing automation, event management, e-advocacy, etc. tools) in the context of CRM
    • Develop and document implementation strategy including marketing automation solutions and digital fundraising and engagement tools that support cross channel constituent journeys within the CRM ecosystem
  • Confidently deliver recommendations and facilitate consensus and decision making across stakeholder groups
  • Lead client through end-to-end testing and solution validation
  • Deliver end-user training and coaching to ensure adoption
  • Develop system design documentation and end-user documentation
  • Actively contribute to project teams, and building Heller’s knowledgebase/internal knowledge sharing
  • Participate in, contribute to, and/or lead internal initiatives
