Yard Specialist

MigWay is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Yard Specialist to support the overall operation of our yard and maintenance department. This individual will play a key role in maintaining organization, moving equipment, and assisting with special projects. The Yard Specialist will work closely with the Director of Maintenance and other team members to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient yard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily yard operations including organizing trailers, trucks, and other equipment.

• Safely move and position equipment as directed using yard jockey or other machinery.

• Support maintenance staff with minor tasks and coordination of equipment readiness.

• Perform routine yard inspections to ensure equipment is properly staged and secured.

• Work on assigned special projects such as facility upgrades, trailer inspections, or inventory management.

• Communicate effectively with the Director of Maintenance to ensure priorities and deadlines are met.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.

• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or operational concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience in yard operations or equipment handling preferred.

• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required.

• Ability to operate yard equipment such as forklifts or hostlers (training provided if necessary).

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and follow-through.

• Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks and projects as needed.
