About iMentor

iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. Students work with their mentors one-on-one, in-person and online, to develop strong personal relationships, nurture a college aspiration, navigate the college application process, and build critical skills that lead to college success. In New York City, iMentor partners with public schools to ensure every student in the schools receives a mentor. iMentor also provides its curriculum, technology, and best practices to help nonprofits run effective programs in the iMentor model. Since 1999, iMentor has connected more than 25,000 students with mentors. Position Overview

iMentor is growing rapidly, serving more students in more cities each year. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst (SBA) who has the vision, experience and passion to bring iMentor’s systems and business processes to a new level of excellence; transforming how our teams work. As well as being a business processes expert, they will have a special focus on the use of Salesforce across multiple departments and regions. The SBA will help teams to think differently about the way they work, identify areas of business process improvement and implement those solutions. From identifying opportunities, to the discovery and process mapping, to planning the roll out of new products, they will be critical to our future success. The SBA will be charged with aligning systems and processes across the organization and building user capacity to help teams achieve their goals with greater efficiency. Writing user stories and developing technical specs are a key part of the role. You will also helping iMentor to enhance how we use analytics and reporting to better serve our students, mentors and partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a business analyst, as well as product responsibility and experience with agile or other development methodology. He or she will be a design thinker with a passion for improving processes, and a strong customer service orientation. Salesforce.com experience is a big plus.


Responsibilities

• Provide business analyst skills to identify areas of business process improvement

• Serve as sponsor/champion for everything Salesforce related

• Work with power users to identify new features and enhancements

• Manage product pipeline

• Manage release schedules

• Write user stories and technical specs

• Manage Junior Salesforce Administrator

• Manage third-party consultants and developers

• Drive analytics and reporting for users and teams

• Maintain comprehensive product and project documentation

• Develop effective training materials and deliver trainings to teams to build capacity

• Maintain strong relationships with teams and regional offices, talking regularly to user groups to understand needs and map out processes and structures, and managing expectations around the roadmap for different systems

• Oversight of the ticket/issue resolution system that the Junior Salesforce Administrator will lead

• Organize regular Salesforce Power User committee meetings

• Ensure your sector knowledge is kept up-to-date, to gather new information on add-on tools, enhancements, and system integrations

• Become knowledgeable about the platform iMentor uses to manage our mentee-mentor interactions

• Support iMentor organization-wide initiatives, requiring occasional evening and/or weekend events

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience as business analyst

• 2 years’ product responsibility

• 2 years’ experience in agile or other formal dev methodology

• Methodical in approach, but also able to iterate quickly, try new things, and learn from failures

• Skilled at listening to and interpreting people’s needs in an effort to understand the fundamental problem and apply a technological solution

• A continuous learner who is an early adopter and quick study of new systems and tools

• A design thinker with a passion for improving processes and finding better ways to do things; seeing problems and inefficiencies bothers you and you’re driven to fix them

• Able to explain complex concepts to even the least savvy user with patience and clarity

• Experience using Salesforce.com a plus

• Salary commensurate with experience
