About iMentor

iMentor is a national non-profit organization that builds mentoring relationships which empower first generation college students to graduate from high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. iMentor partners with public high schools in low-income communities where the majority of students will be the first in their family to go to college. iMentor matches every student in those partner schools with a college-educated mentor. Mentors commit a minimum of three years to working with a single student before having the option to extend their match through college completion. Since its inception in 1999, iMentor has created over 25,000 mentoring relationships and has a track record of significantly improving college entrance, persistence, and completion rates for the students and schools it serves, and has matched 7,400 students with mentors this year. iMentor has been recognized through funding by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and the Robin Hood Foundation, and the federal Social Innovation Fund.

iMentor is one of the nation’s most innovative and quickly growing college success organizations. As a team, we are mission-focused, results-oriented, passionate and fun, and were named one of the Best Nonprofits to Work For by Opportunity Knocks and The Nonprofit Times.

Developed in-house over the last 10 years, the iMentor platform is a web application, with upcoming native mobile applications for iOS and Android. It includes a comprehensive intake application for volunteers, rich communication and learning spaces that integrate with popular educational services such as Google Drive, analytics for staff to monitor program performance, intelligent automation of routine administrative tasks, and robust APIs to connect with ancillary services such as Twilio, Qualtrics and Tableau.
