Position Overview

The Volunteer Background Coordinator (VBC) assists our Volunteer Background Manager in the oversight of our partnerships with national background check vendors and school districts, ensuring that all mentors meet requirements to support high impact, high quality relationships. The VBC will manage the day-to-day administrative tasks for each region’s specific background clearance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of professional experience coordinating large projects and administrative tasks, exceptional customer service orientation, and high levels of organization and attention to detail.


Responsibilities

·       Create individual Salesforce campaigns for each in-person fingerprinting event in NYC.

·       Send the roster of GoPass attendees to our contacts on the day of the event. Communicate any instructions to screening coordinators, as needed.

·       Input PETS forms into the GoPass roster after each NYC orientation.

·       Coordinate data uploads with the Info Systems team to ensure mentor background check data is updated regularly and correctly.

·       Update background check data using reports provided by national vendors and partners regularly and correctly.

·       Act as the single point of contact for screening coordinators to ensure seamless communication and quality customer service regarding background checks statuses for the mentor applicants currently in the screening pipeline.

·       Reflect on and report background check data progress, deficits and concerns.

·       Participate in team meetings, including the discussion of mentors that may not be a good fit for the program.

·       Provide flawless customer service throughout the screening process.

·       Support iMentor organization-wide initiatives, requiring occasional evening and/or weekend events.


Qualifications

·       At least 1-2 years of office experience; preference for experience in nonprofits, project management, and customer service

·       Proven organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast paced setting with excellent attention to detail

·       Extremely strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with firmness, and to engage a diverse range of adults with professionalism, humor, and empathy

·       Self-directed and able to work independently and in remote work settings as needed

·       Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

·       Aligned in thought and action with iMentor's values (http://www.imentor.org/values)
