Compensation Package: $14-16 per hour

Job Summary: Responsible for overall routine maintenance, minor repairs, and appearance of buildings and grounds at Campfire Camp El Tesoro in Granbury, Texas.
Essential Functions:
· Respond in timely manner to maintenance and repair concerns from guests and staff
· Document maintenance and repairs to facilities throughout property
· Maintain swimming pools and chemical requirements with documentation
· Grounds maintenance and repair
· Properly maintain and steward organizations tools, equipment, vehicles
· Must abide by all Camp Fire and OSHA safety policies and procedures
· Must abide by all Camp Fire First Texas personnel policies
· Provide appropriate guest relations and hospitality to all Camp El Tesoro Guests and staff.
· Maintain flexible availability through rotating “On Call” requirements
· Ability to lift 75lb. and work in an outdoor setting, at times in inclement weather
· Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with guests and peers
· Ability to use office equipment including copiers, computers and telephones
· Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, grounds and equipment maintenance
· Ability to work alone and with peers, with and without supervision
· Ability to read/write, follow both written and verbal instructions
· Ability to drive and operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Minimum 18 years of age
· Pass Background Check
· Pass Drug Test
· 1+ years facilities and equipment maintenance experience in an outdoor setting.
· Mechanical Aptitude with grounds maintenance equipment
· Basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds maintenance.
· Ability to operate all types of grounds equipment (mowers, weed eater, chainsaw, tractor etc.)
· Swimming pool maintenance and repair experience
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Texas Certified Pool Operators certificate or ability to acquire within 6 months of employment
· Basic computer knowledge utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
· Mobile equipment maintenance and repair knowledge
· Mechanical or facilities maintenance background
· Landscaping experience
· HVAC, Electrical, plumbing, carpentry and construction knowledge
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Texas Certified Pool Operators license or ability to acquire within 6 months of employment (paid for by employer)
Current Driver’s License with minimum of liability insurance
Relationships:
Will interact and be hospitable to all guests of Camp El Tesoro. Foster and excellent working relationship with all staff, vendors, contractors, volunteers, participants and supporters in a manner that best represents an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere of all Camp Fire First sites and programs.
Accountability:
This position will be responsible for the overall appearance, impression, and functionality of buildings, grounds and equipment of Camp El Tesoro with guidance from Site Director, Maintenance Manager, and Program Directors.
Key Area of Responsibility: (In cooperation with Maintenance Manager)
Key Area of Responsibility – Landscaping and Grounds:
- Ensure that maintained areas are mowed and trimmed as scheduled, including during the off-season
- Trim trees away from buildings, on frequently used paths, and clear of roadway
- Maintain Camp public water system
- Cut firewood as needed
- Maintain irrigation system
- Maintain and create new landscape areas
Key Area of Responsibility – Equipment, Vehicles and Maintenance Areas:
- Maintain systematic maintenance schedule on all equipment and vehicles, including preventative maintenance, documenting such maintenance as required
- Ensure that equipment is kept in assigned location and returned after use.
- Keep maintenance areas clean and organized
- Ensure that fire equipment is properly maintained and inspected annually
Key Area of Responsibility - Camp Security:
- Lock and unlock gate at designated times.
- Maintain fences and no trespassing signs.
- Monitor and as necessary, limit access to campsite (including perimeter) and maintain awareness of campers and guests on the property
- Maintain positive relationship with local law enforcement and neighbors
Key Area of Responsibility – Pools:
- Assist in the opening and closing of pools
Key Area of Responsibility - General Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all Camp Fire First Texas, ACA, local, state, and federal rules and regulations related to the camp facility, equipment, vehicles, and any other areas as assigned.
- Maintain log of all maintenance activities, in coordination with Site Manager
- Maintain daily timesheet and other written reports as required
- Maintain knowledge of Council Programs
- Be “on-call” on designated weekends, helping weekend Camp Host and/or other staff as needed
- Attend Staff meetings as required
- Attend Camp Fire General Staff Meetings
- Represent CFUSA and Camp El Tesoro as assigned, maintaining positive relationships in the community
- Other duties as assigned
