Job Title: Afterschool Program Specialist

Location: Aledo ISD (Aledo, TX)
In-Person/Virtual: In-person, Monday-Friday 2pm-6:30pm
Reports To: Site Director
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Full/Part Time: Part Time (22.5 hours per week)
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Compensation Package:
$15-16 per hour
company paid LTD & Life, PTO, 1 week paid holiday break in December, 1 floating holiday
Start Date: Continuous

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to work with a diverse group of youth and adults
- Have and maintain reliable transportation
- Excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills
- High moral character and integrity
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working with youth
- CDA, AA or Bachelors Degree in child development, education, or a related field
- Knowledge of state and local requirements for child care centers
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
Essential Functions: Ability to implement curriculum with youth. Provide a warm, nurturing, fun and safe environment for youth. Interact with youth and families daily in a positive and professional manner. Attend all meetings and functions required by the position. Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Relationships:
Must maintain clear communication and positive relations with all program staff, guests, volunteers, peers, and supporters of Camp Fire and will report directly to Site Director.
Accountability:
This position is responsible for supervision and safety of youth at the program site
Key Area of Responsibility:
Program Operations
- Plan and coordinate with the Site Director to implement daily lesson plans based on the curriculum outline
- Supervise and participate in group activities
- Use and promote positive guidance
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to Camp Fire and Licensing standards
- Communicate with Site Director all incidents and/or behavior issues in a timely manner
- Ensure proper use of program supplies and equipment to minimize waste
- Assist in program events such as Field Trips, school activities, and Open Houses as needed
Human Resources

- Report any concerns to supervisor immediately
- Attend required training and staff meetings
- Read and respond to email correspondence from Site Director, Program Director, or other Camp Fire personnel
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with co-workers, school faculty, and families
Financial Operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to families
- Maintain high enrollment by providing excellent programming
Marketing and Public Relations
- Promote Camp Fire programs within the community
- Represent Camp Fire in a positive manner
Facility Management
- Maintain a clean and safe program area
- Report all maintenance and repair needs to the Site Director
Program and Operations
- Attend Camp Fire General Staff Meetings.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor about unusual events, special needs, participant concerns and suggestions.
- Be able to communicate program purposes and goals in the community
- Support and implement Council goals as assigned
