Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership and manage all financial and accounting operations of Camp Fire First Texas. This role is charged with transforming and evolving the organization’s financial infrastructure by modernizing processes, building efficiencies, and identifying areas of risk and opportunities. This role is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  The CFO reports directly to the President & CEO and will partner with senior leadership to develop and implement sustainable, innovative, and fiscally responsible strategies across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, results-driven with a strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all finance, budgeting, and accounting necessary to achieve the organization's mission and help execute the strategic plan.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute accurate monthly income statements for each department and Camp Fire as a whole.
  • Lead all financial and budgetary functions, including the creation of user-friendly tools for department variance and forecast reports.
  • Develop and maintain the company's annual operating budget and updated forecasts (by department and consolidated).
  • Hold monthly meetings with each department to review variances and forecast adjustments.
  • Review all month-end and year-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliations, overhead, and organizational performance.
  • Ensure accuracy of the general ledger, oversee all journal entries, accruals, recurring transactions, and monthly/quarterly closing activities.
  • Research, analyze and spearhead process and system improvements to maximize organizational efficiency and improve the bottom line.
  • Conduct data compilation, analysis, review, and reporting as needed.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and projections.
  • Create financial presentations for all Board meetings, including Finance Committee and Foundation Board, attend all meetings.  
  • Manage financial goals and metrics for the organization and assist in the development and negotiation of contracts as required.
  • Create and/or update accounting policies, procedures, and practices to improve accounting operations.
  • Oversee all aspects of cash management and cash controls.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
  • Apply technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with and efficient application of U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Oversee all payroll functions to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Partner with COO on compensation and health benefits strategy.
  • Oversee reimbursing grants to ensure funds are allocated appropriately and in adherence to approved budget.
  • Provide input and guidance on budget submissions for grant applications.
  • Ensure systems are in place to properly track the release of restricted funds.
  • Manage organization’s inventory list of property, plant, and equipment (fixed assets).

 

  • Manage due to/due from accounts between Camp Fire and our Foundation.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other executives in identifying and evaluating new service line and funding opportunities.

 

Compensation/Benefits

  • Salary range $115k-$125k
  • Hybrid schedule (M/W/F remote, Tue/Thur. in-office)
