Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Analyst/Database Programmer to support complex data management and analysis efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for data analysis, profiling, cleansing, database design, implementation, and performance tuning. This role will play a key part in supporting the State’s DMV systems and will involve close collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and manage large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Design and maintain data dictionaries, logical and physical database models.
  • Develop and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and other objects.
  • Create data maps, ERDs, and requirements documentation for data-related processes.
  • Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and cleansing.
  • Define and implement data rules for identifying and correcting data inconsistencies.
  • Support data conversion and migration activities for DMV legacy and modern systems.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to resolve data issues.
  • Create and execute comprehensive test cases for data validation and integrity.
  • Clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in understanding data structures, schemas, and implementing appropriate indexing techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience in creating logical and physical data models to represent relationships and ensure data integrity.
  • 3+ years of experience working with DB2 and SQL Server database management systems (DBMS).
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and managing ETL processes, including extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources.
  • 2+ years of experience using data cleansing tools to improve data quality.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and executing comprehensive test cases for data validation.
  • 3+ years of experience in identifying and resolving issues within the data cleansing process. (Highly Desired)
  • 3+ years of experience in communicating technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Highly Desired)
  • 5+ years of experience in managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines.
  • 3+ years of experience in analyzing large, complex datasets and extracting actionable insights.
