Job Title:             Government Grants Administrator

Position Summary:

The Government Grants Administrator will be responsible for the end-to-end management of all Safe at Home Government Grants and contracts, including financial and operational compliance, invoicing, operational oversight of the management of government grants, and closeout. This position requires a candidate with a strong understanding of the government grant process administration processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Grant and Contract Development:

  • Develop and negotiate contracts with partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Monitor grant and contract compliance, ensuring adherence to funder requirements and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate fiscal reports to funding agencies and stakeholders.
  • Oversee and maintain required staff files as per grant compliance terms including confirmations of background checks, licensure, and other required clearance checks.
  • Oversee and maintain required organizational insurance documentation as per grant compliance terms.

Budget Management:

  • Collaborate with program managers and finance teams to develop and manage project budgets.
  • Monitor spending to ensure compliance with grant and contract budgets.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with program managers, finance, and legal teams to gather information for contract review and fiscal reporting.
  • Maintain positive relationships with funding agencies, partners, and other stakeholders.

Proposal Evaluation:

  • Evaluate grant and contract opportunities, assessing alignment with organizational priorities and feasibility.
  • Provide input on potential risks and opportunities associated with proposed grants and contracts.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain a comprehensive and organized system for grant and contract documentation.
  • Ensure that all relevant parties have access to necessary information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government grant administration, either in a nonprofit organization or local government agency
  • Familiarity with grant compliance, budget management, and fiscal reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Suite application with expert level skills in Excel.
