About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and engaged Planning, Logistics, and Sales Operations Lead. In this role you will serve as a focal point between our supply base partners (CM’s/ ODM’s/ JDM’s), Operations Program Managers, Fulfillment, and Finance.  You will lead the demand and supply base planning working with OPM’s,
Sales, Marketing, and Business development to review, understand, and challenge the demand
plan or forecast.  You will oversee all supply chain planning for both the demand and the
supply side and will be responsible for managing delivery commitments from our supply base
partners and ensuring clarity on the required communication to our internal customers. The
supply plan comprehends inventory on hand, inventory in transit, production lead time,
component availability and any other relevant factors affecting supply.  This role is also
responsible for owning, reporting and managing Emporia-owned inventory and inventory held
by our suppliers on behalf of Emporia.  You will lead the planning team to work proactively with
procurement and engineering to address such supply impacts as constrained material, EOL,
PPV, excess & obsolete, and component supplier roadmaps.  You will lead the
planning team in driving regular meetings with sales and with our partners to ensure a clear
picture of the overall supply plan and ensuring Emporia achieves required monthly and
quarterly revenue shipments.

Responsibilities

Planning/Logistics:

  • Work closely with the supply base partners to ensure delivery of products to support quarterly revenue targets
  • Participate as both leader and as a contributing member for Supply Chain planning and logistics requirements
  • Align with Contract Manufacturers (CM’s), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM’s), and Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) partner(s) on build and delivery plans for all products
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning meeting and weekly forecast interlock meetings with sales & finance; receives, validates and challenges demand plan received from customer management/ sales
  • Act as primary focal point between business development/sales, finance, and the supply base partners
  • Coordinate cross-functional group including business development, operations, program
    management, product management, and Engineering to ensure the on-time delivery of all products
  • Create a 12 month rolling supply plan in monthly/ weekly increments by product SKU to ensure clear communication to both partners and customers
  • Determine and establish optimal build plan based on the forecast, demand variation, and material lead-times
  • Ensure open POs are aligned with build plan and request POs release or adjustment as necessary
  • Receive supply commit from partners and review for supply misalignment to sales & finance; proactively develop plan to mitigate; communicate and update changes
  • Work closely with OPM’s and suppliers to provide early visibility to material constraints
    & EOL parts.  Serve as escalation point and lead resolution
  • Manage all logistics partners and coordinate with OPM’s on all international shipments in support of on time availability
  • Measure forecast accuracy in monthly and quarterly buckets
  • Identify and compile metrics to evaluate, track and report Planning performance

Inventory management and analysis:

  • Own, report, and manage all Emporia inventory and inventory held by our suppliers on behalf of Emporia
  • Track and report inventory levels and aging of inventory at key suppliers and 3PL locations
  • Ensure stocking levels & buffer levels meet company policy, guidelines & objectives to meet both on time availability and on time shipments
  • Act as point person from operations to ensure inventory management processes are in place and auditable including cycle count and physical inventory; Analyze and reconcile all discrepancies
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers for material recalls, swaps, and rework activity
  • Conduct material planning for cut-in / phase-in of new components or product changes
  • Coordinate and transact material movement of Emporia owned material to 3PL WH’s systematically and physically
  • Complete EOL and E&O disposition and planning; lead & propose plan to sales, finance and engineering on LTB/LTS components as required
  • Identify and compile metrics to evaluate, track and report inventory performance monthly and quarterly

Other

  • Complete ad hoc analysis and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Identify and drive business process improvements and coordinate with other teams to implement
  • Participate in ERP implementation/ establishment and other system-related initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply chain, or equivalent education / work experience; Advanced technical degree or MBA a strong plus
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, and logistics roles in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of your time to contract manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated team member who can drive resolution to issues with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
