Job Summary:
Jord BioScience is seeking an experienced and collaborative National Strategic Accounts Manager who will be responsible for business development and key account management. The ideal candidate will have commercial experience and success in the agriculture industry and will be highly motivated to expand Jord’s commercial footprint through new customer acquisition and maximizing value from existing key accounts. They will manage strategic relationships to ensure adoption, retention, and upsell opportunities, and will offer market intelligence and key account opportunities, so Jord meets the needs and exceeds expectations of current and future clients. The person in this role will report to the CEO, will serve on Jord’s leadership team, and will bring a proactive, strategic, and team-oriented attitude to drive business growth to help Jord deliver on our unique strategy and business goals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Account Management: Own client relationships and grow to full potential, generating maximum value on a long-term basis; create opportunities to expand business with current clients; identify trend-setter ideas through industry knowledge; prioritize business deals by analyzing application, deal requirements, potential returns and key financials; partner with executive leadership to implement pricing structures aligned with Jord’s strategic value proposition and partner market strategies

Business Development: Develop marketing and business development strategies for Jord product groups, know-how and IP; represent Jord’s diverse product and technology portfolio to identify and generate new prospective clients and collaborators; analyze and understand the agriculture markets, client portfolios, and client needs; identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive the value Jord can bring to clients and maintain long-term client relationships

Manage Sales Process: Lead development and negotiation of material transfer agreements, collaborative project agreements, letters of intent, and commercial agreements, with terms that enable Jord to grow its business and protect its intellectual property, working closely with Jord’s technical leadership and legal counsel

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Actively engage with Jord colleagues to identify commercial opportunities, priorities, key milestones, and potential barriers

Work with the CFO to ensure timely updates to Jord revenue forecasting;

Support management of the portfolio of client projects, working with technical team partner(s) (e.g., Chief Product Development Officer, Chief Science Officer) as well as other team members;

Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop coherent marketing identity, messaging, brand strategy, and materials; ensure corporate standards regarding the ‘look and feel’ of marketing materials

Periodic travel to meet with Jord colleagues and clients, and to attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed

Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Skills and Experience

Minimum of bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, with proven leadership, 10+ years’ experience in commercial or business development in agriculture

Demonstrated track record in key account management, business development, and/or managing a successful sales process in the crop inputs sector of the ag industry, including experience structuring multi-year, multi-stage commercial or collaboration agreements

Excellent interpersonal skills with strong focus on relationship building, collaboration, and connecting others, and desire to work with a diversity of individuals

Exceptional professionalism, verbal and written communication skills

Strong business acumen and drive for managing multiple accounts or projects, balanced with ability to tolerate risk, ambiguity, and changing priorities

Microsoft Office skills, and an ability to adapt and become familiar with new programs and software; experience with teleconferencing and productivity tools that facilitate remote/hybrid work

Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm to work collaboratively in a fast-paced start-up environment
