Job Summary
Pacific Impact Zone (PIZ) is seeking a Biomanufacturing Systems Integrator to support the development and integration of emerging biotechnology and advanced manufacturing capabilities that strengthen supply chain resilience and operational sustainment.
The Biomanufacturing Systems Integrator will help evaluate, connect, and integrate technologies, partners, and operational requirements to support the advancement of distributed biomanufacturing solutions. This role works closely with internal leadership, industry partners, research institutions, startups, and government stakeholders to help translate emerging biotechnology capabilities into practical operational applications.
This position focuses on technical integration, ecosystem collaboration, and emerging technology evaluation, working alongside program leadership and project management staff responsible for program execution.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Biomanufacturing Systems Integration

Support the integration of biomanufacturing technologies, processes, and operational requirements into cohesive capability solutions.

Evaluate emerging biotechnology and advanced manufacturing technologies for potential operational use.

Identify technical dependencies and integration considerations across equipment, processes, and digital systems.
Technology & Market Assessment

Conduct technical and market research to identify emerging biomanufacturing capabilities relevant to supply chain resilience and distributed manufacturing.

Analyze trends in biotechnology, synthetic biology, and advanced manufacturing to inform program strategy.

Assess the scalability, readiness level, and operational relevance of emerging technologies.
Ecosystem Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with biotechnology companies, startups, research institutions, and innovation ecosystem partners.

Support collaboration across the biomanufacturing development pipeline, from research and development through operational deployment.

Engage with stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology adoption and capability development.
Infrastructure & Capability Development

Support evaluation of biomanufacturing infrastructure, equipment, and facility requirements for distributed production environments.

Contribute to planning and development of infrastructure supporting advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Technology Demonstrations & Pilot Initiatives

Support coordination of technology demonstrations, pilot programs, and experimentation initiatives involving emerging biotechnology solutions.

Assist with evaluating demonstration outcomes and identifying opportunities for further development or adoption.
Technical Reporting & Analysis

Contribute to development of technical reports, white papers, and capability assessments related to biomanufacturing and emerging technologies.

Translate technical findings into clear written summaries, briefings, and presentations.
Stakeholder Communication

Prepare technical briefings and presentations for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Support communication between technical experts, operational partners, and innovation ecosystem participants.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, bioengineering, biochemical engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field.

3–7 years of experience working in biotechnology, biomanufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or related technical environments.

Familiarity with biomanufacturing processes, biotechnology systems, or laboratory-to-production scaling challenges.

Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills.

Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Location:
Based in Honolulu Hawaii – on-site, must be able to reliably commute to 96813.
