Position Summary
Oversee the daily activities of the motorcycle service shop. Coordinate the scheduling of all service work to Suzuki's corporate fleet of motorcycles and ATVs to meet required completion deadlines. Monitor all service work to ensure that repairs are properly completed using Suzuki's established repair procedures and that all serviced units meet Suzuki's safety and performance standards. Maintain the service shop in a clean organized manner to promote maximum productivity and present a professional appearance.
Principal Tasks
- Schedule and assign all service work as necessary to ensure completion by required deadlines. Coordinate all aspects of the repair to ensure that all requested work is completed. Inspect all vehicles prior to release to vendors, or media representatives to ensure that the unit meets safety requirements and performs to specification.
- Using Suzuki's established repair procedures, perform assembly, service and repair of Suzuki Motor USA, LLC’s corporate fleet of motorcycles and ATV products. Report on matters of quality control, or safety problems found during servicing to department manager.
- Support the Motorcycle Press Relations and Advertising Departments by acting as a technical representative at the various media and promotional events. Prepare the product as necessary to ensure the highest level of performance, to represent Suzuki and Suzuki products at the highest possible level.
- Maintain the service shop in a clean organized manner to promote maximum productivity and present a professional image. Monitor all shop equipment and company vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and operation. Monitor all flammable and hazardous materials to ensure proper storage and disposal.
- As required perform factory directed modifications/ recall repairs of new units located at remote locations. Assist various Suzuki departments with promotional activities as assigned by department manager.
Scope of Authority
- Interacts with various internal Suzuki departments to facilitate scheduling and coordination of service work to corporate fleet units.
- Interacts with various vendors, media and internal departments regarding technical aspects of Suzuki products.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work Experience
Position requires a minimum of 4-6 years as a motorcycle technician, with a minimum of 1 year service experience at the dealer or manufacturers level.
Education Requirements
High school diploma required. Secondary education with emphasis on motorcycle technology is desired.
Required Skills
Must have demonstrable knowledge in the repair, servicing and operation of Suzuki motorcycles and ATV products. Must be skilled in the use of general hand and power tools. Must have experience in the safe operation of standard motorcycle shop equipment such as tire changing machines, tire balancer, forklift etc. Should have knowledge of proper handling if hazardous materials typically found in service shops. Requires valid California driver’s license including valid motorcycle endorsement with clean driving record.
