The role in a nutshell 

Octaura is looking for a tech-savvy and future-ready finance leader who can modernize and transform business systems and operations to improve productivity; an innovator who embraces automation to streamline mundane tasks in order to devote time and resources to higher value, strategic activities. Someone who is part analyst, part strategist, part futurist, part collaborator—and 100% business. This person will come with best practices for aggregating and presenting information, including budgets, KPIs, financial reports and forecasts. 

Core responsibilities

    • Manage financial planning and analytics and help develop and execute Octaura's financial processes and operations 
    • Use the power of technology to positively impact our business, ensuring competitive differentiation and a healthy bottom line 
    • Be able to analyze exponential volumes of data 
    • Capitalize on sophisticated databases and analytics 
    • Create and manage the company’s budget, prepare financial statements efficiently and effectively 
    • Set up financial controls and accounting procedures 

Desired experience 

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, with a minimum of 10 years of experience; OR a relevant Masters degree with 7 years of experience 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as budget creation and analysis software 
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
    • Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
