Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with US GAAP, and supporting IPO readiness, including SEC reporting requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, process improvement skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated, science-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Manage the general ledger and month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting and related reporting
- Review and support AP and payroll accounting, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Perform financial analysis to support management reporting and decision-making.
- Assist in the consolidation process, including intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in alignment with SOX readiness.
- Support internal and external audits,
IPO & Technical Accounting
- Support preparation of US GAAP financial statements and assist with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1).
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance (including ASC 842 Leases, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, and R&D costs).
- Partner with external auditors, legal advisors, and consultants to support IPO milestones.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial reporting.
- Assist with ERP deployment, optimization (SAP) and automation initiatives.
- Document and improve accounting policies and procedures to support public company operations..
Qualifications Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- Experience: 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a mix of Big 4/6 public accounting and corporate accounting in the life sciences or biotech industry.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with SEC reporting requirements preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
