The Director, Solutions Engineering leads an elite Solutions Engineering team responsible for pioneering the success of Faction Cloud, Multi-Cloud, and Managed Service solutions. Individual must possess excellent technical and organizational skills used to lead Faction’s technical sales practice. This person must a successful track record of handling high-performance teams and who has partnered with sales to grow products and services revenue. In addition, this person must have demonstrated excellent planning and strategy deployment skills. They possess both a broad level of technology understanding and a strength in customer relationships coupled with operational and financial acumen.


This person should have experience in technology sales, consulting services, pre-sales or customer facing roles with progression into management across these functional areas.

Management duties include the establishment of strategic direction and performance, tracking goals and attainment and ensuring technical capabilities are refined across the SE team. Must have strong ability to work through the entire sales process leveraging technical expertise, relationship building, and ability to gain the trust of business and technical users.

Required Skills:

·         5+ years of experience managing or leading a successful presales SE organization, including leading managers.

·         Pre Sales Storage industry experience a requirement.

·         Work in a hyper-growth environment with an appreciation of how growth affects the business dynamics, corporate culture   and in-place processes and systems

·         You have built, led and motivated highly collaborative teams of experienced consultants and/or pre-sales engineers.

·         You possess organizational and management competency including business and personnel management

·         Collaborate with field sales organizations involving joint client presentations, opportunity pursuits and leading customer     relationships

·         You have run sales plays for new offerings and developed collateral for the teams' reuse and distribution to both clients and   internal groups

·         You possess organizational and management competency including business and personnel management

·         Continually evolve sales, increase market adoption and drive a service led sales culture

·         Review customer deliverables to ensure business alignment and accurate roadmaps with detailed implementation plans

·         Lead in a matrix model supporting sales, product teams, support organizations, professional services and enterprise partner teams.


·         10+ Years Relevant Experience in Vendor Sales and/or Management

·         6-8+ Years Relevant Experience in Technology Related Field

·         5+ Years Relevant Experience with Technical Staff Management

·         Extensive Experience and Familiarity with Cloud Solutions

·             Experience designing solutions for VMware based workloads, and block, file, and /or object storage

·         Experience with Enterprise Platforms and Scale

·         Experience with financial modeling and benchmarking principles

·         Experience with Service Providers is Strongly Preferred

·         A B.S. in Computer Science or Related Field Strongly Preferred

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements will vary based upon opportunity and requirements, but expect travel of 50% or more to accommodate the business requirements
