Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager will lead a sales team of both virtual and field sales specialists. The RSM will set the standard of ownership and accountability for their sales representatives. They will champion a culture of high performance and drive outstanding execution. The RSM will also lead engagements with key regional customers across neurology and psychiatry specialties, coach and mentor sales reps, lead sales meetings, and attend conferences. The RSM will lead their team to pursue excellence to maximize launch and ongoing sales performance of current and future OWP products. In doing so, they will have the unique opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the growth and performance of OWP and funding of ROW Foundation.
Tactically, the RSM will ensure that the day-to-day execution of their sales team is aligned with the strategic goals of the broader organization. They will ensure that all sales goals within their geography are exceeded, budgets are managed, productivity metrics are met and all promotional activity is aligned with corporate ethics and compliance policies. They will coach sales specialists to continue to develop skills, refine sales strategies and provide constructive feedback when necessary. This critical leadership role will be ideal for someone who thinks strategically, provides accountability and is looking to lead a team with passion and vision.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, inspire, develop and retain a team of high performing virtual and field sales specialists focused on achieving sales goals.
- Foster our culture of commitment, empowerment and teamwork which includes ownership, accountability, continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence through trust, coaching, development, recognition and rewards.
- Drive the launch and ongoing performance of OWP products.
- Set and track productivity metrics and hold the team accountable.
- Work directly with leadership to create and pivot sales strategies based on launch performance.
- Conduct regular team trainings and one-on-one coaching with each sales specialist to review performance, provide support and model best practices.
- Up to 70% travel.
Required Skills:
- Has led a field and/or virtual sales team with demonstrated high performance.
- Leadership experience in collaborating with company executives around strategy, vision, and mission.
- Documented experience in setting expectations and holding sales specialists accountable to various performance goals.
- Experience developing business plans at regional and territory levels with sales specialists.
- Ability to develop authentic relationships with openness, vulnerability, and trust with your team.
- Demonstrates the highest level of ethics, integrity, and trust while acting with courage and candor.
- Strong skillset in analyzing sales data at territory, regional, and national levels.
- Experience managing sales budgets including conferences, meetings, and sales teams.
- Rigorous strategic and analytical agility, with the ability to understand complex business obstacles/opportunities and use sound judgment to drive results.
- Experience role modeling effective key account management, including observing and engaging in customer interactions.
- Experience with KOL engagement with important regional/national customers.
- Experience attending and leading exhibitor booth engagement at regional and national conferences.
- Experience working with Marketing, Operations, Market Access, Training and Development, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
- Can ensure PDMA compliance with all company and industry guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as well as CRM systems such as Salesforce and Veeva.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
Experience and Preferred Skills:
- 10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
- 3 years of sales management experience.
- Proven track record of exceeding expectations in past roles.
