ADS BIOTEC is a leading Biotechnology company based in Omaha. We design and manufacture robotic instrumentation for laboratory automation of biological sample processing. We are also involved in development and production of related reagents for laboratory and pilot scale processes for biological, genetic, and chromosomal analyses.

We are seeking a qualified Information Technology Systems Administrator with knowledge of both Windows and Linux server environments. The qualified candidate will provide effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in support of all activities within the project lifecycle.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead desktop and help-desk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Research, purchase, install and troubleshoot new hardware and software for servers and systems. This includes but is not limited to installation of various Linux distributions and Microsoft server operating systems, and related applications software.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards, quality system and operational requirements.
  • Engineer technical solutions for various projects and operational needs.
  • Train and instructing users on the use of software, operating systems, network facilities, and databases.
  • Manage multiple servers, systems, and location specific data and voice communications equipment.
  • Plan and implement site security to include building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, and file system integrity, and adding and deleting users.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
  • Provide application support for company’s database systems for financial and inventory management

(Great Plains), sales, marketing and service process management (CRM), and quality system management

(TMS).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) from a four-year college or university in Information Technology, Computer

Science, or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification or related experience in Linux and Microsoft server operating systems.
  • Experience with administration of database management systems such as MS SQL Server and Oracle is preferred.
