Position Title: Assistant Operations Manager

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
Position Summary: As an Assistant Operations Manager you will support overall store operations with a primary focus on the receiving dock, stockroom, building operations, and direct-to-consumer/ecommerce fulfillment. You will lead a team to ensure accurate merchandise flow, a safe and well-maintained facility, and timely, accurate processing of all outbound customer orders while upholding company service and productivity standards.
Duties and Responsibilities for Assigned Areas:
Support building operations including daily walkthroughs of vertical transportation (elevators, escalators, lifts), reporting and tracking service issues, and partnering with vendors and corporate facilities to minimize downtime.
Oversee basic facility maintenance in partnership with the Store Manager and facilities partners, including lighting, fixtures, restrooms, associate areas, and customer-facing spaces, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Oversee all aspects of the receiving area including trailer scheduling, live unloads, inbound verification, and documentation, ensuring all merchandise is received, checked, and processed accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with company receiving procedures, including RTVs, vendor compliance rules, packing list reconciliation, over/short/damage reporting, and timely communication of discrepancies.
Maintain dock organization and safety standards, including clear egress, proper pallet and fixture storage, and correct use and inspection of all material handling equipment.
Lead the stockroom operation to ensure accurate stock placement, labeling, zoning, and replenishment to the sales floor in alignment with company standards and service expectations.
Develop and maintain efficient back-of-house processes for hanging, ticketing, folding, and staging merchandise to support floor sets, promotions, and daily sales needs.
Monitor stockroom cleanliness, organization, and safety, ensuring adherence to housekeeping, fire code, and loss prevention standards at all times.
Coordinate restroom and common-area cleaning schedules, supply levels, and follow-up on any health, safety, or accessibility concerns.
Lead daily operations for direct-to-consumer and ecommerce order fulfillment including picking, packing, quality checks, and shipping, ensuring accuracy goals are consistently achieved.
Ensure all DTS/ecommerce orders, and ship-from-store processes follow company standards, including system updates, parcel carrier requirements, packing materials, and documentation.
Recruit, train, and develop operations team members in receiving, stockroom, facilities, and ecommerce processes, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance documentation.
Analyze productivity, workflow, and staffing needs; adjust labor deployment to meet business volume, truck schedules, and ecommerce order demand.
Support shortage control initiatives, including accurate paperwork, secure handling of high-risk merchandise, adherence to key control and alarm procedures, and participation in inventory preparation and execution.
Acquire in-depth knowledge and training on the JESTA ERP system to effectively troubleshoot issues and perform all required receiving-related system tasks, including PO lookup, receipt processing, adjustments, and inquiries.
Knowledge and Skills:
A minimum of 3–5 years of retail operations or logistics/stockroom management experience.
4-year college degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of receiving, stockroom, and ecommerce fulfillment processes, including WMS/POS systems and basic reporting.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive productivity, and maintain high standards of organization, safety, and compliance.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across store leadership, facilities, and corporate functions.
