The Role:

As the Art Director for VIOLET GREY, you are a creative visionary in the luxury space. You are a seasoned creative leader and will expertly oversee and lead art direction, graphic design, and content creation for the brand. The right candidate for this role will have a clear vision for the future of VIOLET GREY and will bring elevation and ingenuity to the brand’s creative. This role combines creative leadership with hands-on design execution, focusing on driving brand-elevation and consistency, and delivering engaging content across all brand touchpoints.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

Understands the unique position of VIOLET GREY as The Industry’s Beauty Edit, and knows its heritage 

Ideates innovative content across channels and understands the variety of content needed for digital and printed touchpoints

Leads the creative team by acting as the visual voice for the brand while also fostering teamwork and supporting ideas from the bottom-up

Leads on-brand and strategically creative endeavors across the company - directing the look and feel of events, brand moments, franchises for content across channels, and beyond

Delivers world-class creative assets to various teams with attention to detail and a luxury approach

Collaborates with the VIOLET GREY team and producer(s) to lead brand photoshoots - model casting, photographer and stylist casting, swipe and shot lists, etc.

Contributes to building the business by achieving sales goals and hitting key metrics

The Ideal Candidate:

Has experience in luxury and is beauty-obsessed

5-10+ years of experience in a design and art direction role with experience working with beauty/fashion brands

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software

Proficiency or willingness to learn Asana, Figma, Slack, and other tools for collaboration

In-depth on-set photoshoot experience. Experience leading AD on-set

Self-motivated - able to strategize own business

Location: Preference for Los Angeles area. Hybrid role with some requirements to come into an office.
